Four General Types Of Tools
Without tools, we wouldn't be able to enjoy the benefits of technology. We have been aided by several tools since the beginning of the human race and the perfect example of a primitive tool would be the hammer. This has been helpful to our ancestors and to us; we are still using this type of tool even up to this day.
Tools are essential in our daily living. We couldn't fix our cars, repair our homes, build houses and perform other tasks if these weren't around. Tools are created and designed to improve and make life easier as it aids us in various jobs or chores.
There are several types of tools and these are classified into four types. Are you unfamiliar with the general types of tools? Perhaps reading this article would enlighten you on this matter.
• Hand tools. These types of tools are the basic tools that are constantly available in every workplace. These may appear to be obsolete compared to the power tools; however, these are still around and some individuals would prefer to use them as compared to the other tools.
A hand tool is a device used for working with the use of the hands. Tools such as screwdrivers, hand saw, mallet, hammer and caliper are some of the examples of hand tools. These have several purposes; these can be used for drilling, twisting, measuring, leveling, lay outing and digging. Some of the tools that belong to this classification are considered to be primitive but these are very much efficient at getting the job done.
• Cutting tools. An axe, a blade and a chainsaw are just some of the examples of cutting tools. These types of tools are designed to cut materials; however, not every cutting tool could be used for every type of material.
A nail clipper could not be used for cutting glasses; a pair of scissors could not be used for trimming trees. These tools are designed specifically to cut down or trim certain types of materials; these would vary depending on the materials that are to be cut.
• Gardening tools. These tools are primarily used and specifically designed for gardening and agricultural purposes. These are the basic aids that have helped in creating many beautiful and wonderful gardens that are a sight to behold. Tools such as the pitchfork, plough, broom, spade and scissors are the basic tools that are constantly present for every gardener and garden.
• Power tools. These tools are powered by electricity, gasoline engine or compressed air motor. These tools are expensive and valuable due to its speed, power and accuracy.
A perfect example of a power tool is the table saw; this tool could virtually cut faster, smoother and straighter than the regular hand saw. These types of tools are easier to use and could produce better results than the other ordinary tools.
There are also portable power tools that were designed recently to provide better convenience for the users. These portable tools could be powered by batteries or could be corded.
